It’s 2013, but apparently there’s still a serious problem called RACISM out there. Whether it’s homophobia or discrimination towards different cultures, religions, ideologies and skin color, it’s one of the most common crime in our society that, with the advent of the internet, has spread through the social networks and mostly affects young people, strongly influenced by what they watch and/or read. The reasons behind this deplorable practice are varied and range from sexual abuses suffered as children, lack of affection during childhood, careless families with episodes of intolerance perpetrated by parents, the fear of being discriminated and marginalized at school or among friends and, last but not least, an extremely Catholic reality where the meaning of God’s words is distorted in favor to a fundamentalist vision which leads to judgments and prejudices towards other’s freedom, right to love and happiness. For this odd people, everyone who doesn’t act or think like them is a menace to society. We are all perverts just because we believe in universal love, because some women are attracted to other women and some men are attracted to other men, because life has many colors for us, not just the black or white they see everyday in the monotonous lives they lead.

Talking about racism, that’s what happened to me this evening with a Youtube users (read his comments in the pics above and have fun); this guy usually insults everyone for no apparent reason. 99% of the videos he liked are contaminated by his nasty comments. Of course he’s not the only one: regularly, in every LGBT video, there’s always some troll/fanatic/bigot who simply copy parts of the Bible and paste it, without even taking the commitment to politely explain their point of view and examine what they have pasted.  Why? Well, mainly because there’s nothing to explain: 

No where in the bible does it say being homosexual is a sin

So, if you are a racist because you think it’s what your Bible, God or your family expect from you, obviously you are a loser with no brain and you should go back to school again, you and your parents as well. When two days ago this user called “tit” a FM fan on one of the videos I uploaded months ago, I reported it as spam, then sent him a private message, asking him to stop to annoy people with his swearing. Knowing the likes of him and the fact that they REALLY need a good psycologist, what other answer could you expect from him, if not a shameful and rude one? He finds “disturbing” my “homosexual crush” on Chris McVie, as if it was just a crush and not something that ranges to her musical talent too. There’s much more that a mofo like that could never understand about life, music and love. He could never understand how Chris and FM music helped me fighting depression and become the tough but sunny 30 yo woman I’m today. To all of you: please guys, never forget that you are special and you have nothing to be ashamed of if you are gay. If we want to defeat all forms of discrimination and violence, all we have to do is be ourselves and, always in a kind and polite way, make people aware that homosexuality is not a crime or a sin and we are people just like them, starting with our families. Being gay doesn’t mean that you are dumb, perverted, flimsy, filthy or you have a strange disease. If someone dare tell you that, simply tell them that:

In the 10 th revision of the WHO International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10), “ego-dystonic sexual orientation” is listed under the heading of “psychological and behavioral disorders associated with sexual development and orientation. The ICD-10 clearly states: “The sexual orientation alone is not to be regarded as a disorder”.

Said so, the only good racist is the shushed and ridiculed one. Who’s unable to respect YOU doesn’t deserve your hate, just your compassion and help. It’s not their business who we love and what we do in our intimacy. If they don’t understand it, they need to be helped by psychologists. That’s what we need to do if we want to overcome discrimination and protect ourselves and LGBT teenages. A lot of this people who hate gays had to repress their own homosexuality for years (or for all their life), and the anger they feel towards those lucky enough to live freely their sexual orientation can lead to violence, murders and suicides.

One last thing I’d like to say about that user is that, obviously, I don’t care about the fact he (or anyone else) don’t accept my homosexuality or my love for Christine. When I read something like the hateful and ridiculous comments he and other douchebags post, I feel more and more proud to be a lesbian and if I could be reborn, no doubts I’d be a lesbian again. I love women, so? He doesn’t like it? Well, it’s HIS problem, not mine. The world don’t give a damn about my sexual tastes, nor about small minded, unpleasant, hateful and problematic people. For them, it’s never too late to try to become civilized and live in harmony with all human beings. Racists who mess with us will always lose in the eyes of the civilized World: they have no arguments, just hate that is destroying our society.

UPDATE: Youtube has taken action against this guy after my 2 reports (Harassment / Hate speech -> Orientation / gender identity + Race or ethnicity) and started to remove his nasty comments. Since they are examining his hateful channel, let’s hope it will be closed asap.
